The We All Have Souls Movement

When I designed business cards for We All Have Souls, I put the following words under the title of the book: “A book, a blog, a movement.” The book is written. You’re reading the blog. I had an idea of what the movement would look like, but the past two weeks have made my conception much clearer.

During that time I met with independent bookstore owners and librarians at the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association fall trade show. I also went to the King County Library System Celebration of Independent Publishers and taught my first class coming directly from the book We All Have Souls. Over the course of those events, many of my allies made suggestions for ways I could improve my message. I’d like to share my current message about the movement with you.

The We All Have Souls movement is centered on the idea that we, as individuals, would be better off if we all paid more attention to all the parts of our souls. Our practice communities would be better. And the world would be better. Continue reading and add your comment

When We Are Born, Why Do We Forget Our Souls?

We forget because the wish of everything that comes into physical reality is to learn how to be separate. That’s the simple answer.

In soul reality everything is much more connected. When we’re there, I don’t think we can say that a wish belongs to just one soul. Wishes and every other part of what the soul does are shared pretty freely with all the other beings that are there. There may be some limit to the sharing based on connections, but every being is connected to lots of others.

When we are so connected with others, we can’t learn about the aspects of our soul (wishes, feelings, thoughts, etc.). So we decided to run an experiment. And here we are — in physical reality — separate from everyone else. Continue reading and add your comment

Evidence

While the experience is real to the person who has it, a skeptical person can say it was imagined or made up. Personal experiences only count when almost everyone has them. Near death experiences Continue reading and add your comment

Mind Region of the Soul

chakra 6

The Mind region combines sensing and intellect. It has the ability to see and hear the world, to make sense of things, sort them out, and figure out how they fit together. It also answers questions for the lower regions when they have a problem they can’t solve.

I think the overall purpose of the Mind is to figure out how to achieve our wishes in ordinary reality. Sometimes it takes a skillful Mind to even figure out what our wishes are. Ordinary reality can be very confusing. Continue reading and add your comment

We All Have Souls. Why Does it Matter? Part 1

Our souls matter because they are our connection to the most profound parts of our living universe. In our culture we may feel cut off from one another, separated from nature, and terrified of our aloneness. Remembering we have a soul gives us a path to reconnect to all the things that matter to us.

I am not promoting a particular religion. Religions are only one way to recognize our souls. Having a soul may not lead to religion at all. But experiencing the world with our souls will connect us to all the glory that is around us.

In my work, I find souls important in three areas. Continue reading and add your comment
