Relationships, sexuality, money and other forms of power — these are important wishes. If we achieve all of these, is it enough?
I’m pretty sure the answer is no. These are our Earth-bound wishes. We have them because we are in a body. Between physical lives we have a completely different experience. Wishes from there are also part of who we truly are. We need to meet those wishes to be whole.
The United States of America has elected Donald Trump as its next President. The campaign’s power, determination, and connection to the wishes of the American people were very strong.
I hope we can show the same power and determination (with, perhaps, more humility) in getting out the message that We All Have Souls.
Now it’s time to renew our positive connections with one another. We don’t banish the darkness by being dark. We don’t calm anger by being angry. We don’t end hate by hating.
We need to find the spark of the creator in everyone and turn that into a flame. That flame needs to light up the shadows so we can see ourselves clearly. And admit that because we are human, the shadows will always be there.
We need to find the calmness to look at our deep connections. We all wish for safety and love, enough food and protective shelter, respect and acknowledgement of our worth. There will always be change, and fear of change. What we need to know is that when the change causes us harm, there will be someone there to help us.
Knowing that we all have souls points out clearly that each of us owes that support to everyone and everything in the physical and soul worlds. With that kind of support, we can continue to grow.
When we look at how our soul regions blend together, it helps explain who we are. While it’s not always true, the cooperation is often in regions that are next to one another. I think it’s similar to the way colors in a rainbow change smoothly from one primary color to the next. For example, between blue and green we can see many types of blue-green. Let’s take a look at pairs of regions to show how this works in souls.
When Energy and Wish regions work together we see a person with a lot of energy to devote to a cause. The energy may be positive or negative. The cause may be healing or harmful. If the cause is getting enough food to eat, we can expect the person to use any energy that is there. Others may be hurt. If the cause is helping others, there is a better chance that the life force will be positive. Continue reading and add your comment →
The Mind region combines sensing and intellect. It has the ability to see and hear the world, to make sense of things, sort them out, and figure out how they fit together. It also answers questions for the lower regions when they have a problem they can’t solve.
I think the overall purpose of the Mind is to figure out how to achieve our wishes in ordinary reality. Sometimes it takes a skillful Mind to even figure out what our wishes are. Ordinary reality can be very confusing. Continue reading and add your comment →
In Lessons of the Inca Shamans Deborah Bryon describes receiving information from the powerful spirits (Apus) of the scared mountains in Peru. The information she received was sent to three of the soul centers that the Inca medicine people think are most important, the Mind, the Heart, and the Belly.
When Deborah came back to her home in Colorado, she still hadn’t processed all of the information. Much of her first book looks at the process of integrating information sent to the Belly and the Heart. Some came out through her writing, but more came out through Deborah’s painting. The Belly found a way to speak through the symbols in the art. You can find out more at her website Lessons of the Inca Shamans and in her two books.
In our Western culture we don’t get much information sent directly to the Belly. We are much more in tune with information that comes through our Voice and is processed in the Mind.
But there are times when the Belly — probably a combination of Will and Desire in my way of looking at the soul — is profoundly affected by something that happens to us. Abuse is one of those events. If the Will can’t process how the abuse affected it, it will not be able to heal.
I’ve always wondered about the concept of unconditional love. Isn’t it just a set-up for one person to control another? Is there a way for it to be healthy?
The usual statement goes like this, “If you just showed me unconditional love, then everything would be all right.” That is often best translated to, “You have to let me do whatever I want — even if it really hurts you.” It’s a controlling, negative Will statement.
I now have a different idea about unconditional love. Here’s how the idea can work.
